About my work
The prints offered here are signed limited editions from a continuing project entitled: Moments of Everyday Life.
The title comes from the work of French theorists Henri Lefebvre and Michel de Certeau. Lefebvre wrote about ‘moments’ of revelation and clarity when the nature of urban life is revealed. Such moments can happen, in a Zen like fashion, unexpectedly, at any place and at anytime. De Certeau thought that in postmodernity individuals in the city developed their own tactics to adapt and subvert authority and culture to their own ends; to make life more liveable.
In following this theme, the work explores the possible re-imagination of cultural spaces in a range of contemporary urban environments including New York, London, Kathmandu, Lhasa, Mumbai, Hong Kong and Hanoi. An exhibition and book are planned once the project is complete.
All prints in this series are individually produced on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper and supplied with a protective polyester sleeve.
